Dear dr. Robert Edsel,
I am Italian and unfortunately I do not speak English, but I want to tell you that I have read with passion your books on the Italian and European cultural heritage saved by the valiant Monumetns Men. I tell everyone their story, which is also ours, when I have the opportunity. Many young Americans and others who ended their young lives here to free Europe from Nazi-fascism are also buried in Italy. A very big thank you to you, Prof. Edsel, for writing your books and reminding us Europeans that if we can enjoy our works of art today we owe it to the sacrifice and action of those heroes, who unfortunately few know.
